EMERYVILLE, CA - SCS Global Services, a third-party source of environmental certification, named Carl Cothran to head its certification services for the flooring industry.

Cothran has several decades of flooring industry experience under his belt. He most recently served as senior director of Quality Assutance for Mohawk Flooring. His resume also includes stints at TexTure Tex Inc., Horizon Industries Inc., Integrated Products Plant 12, and Trend Carpet Mills.

Cothran based in Rome, GA, will spearhead the consolidation of SCS' flooring programs and will focus on expanding SCS' global flooring certification initiatives. In addition, he will help advise companies seeking life-cycle assessment services through SCS to support Environmental Product Declarations, Health Product Declarations and Environmentally Preferable Product claims.

Current SCS flooring clients include Mohawk, Roppe, and Tarkett.
