GREENSBORO, NC - Columbia Forest Products Radius Bending Plywood caught the eye of the architect and design community in a big way.

Columbia's Radius Bending Plywood Hot with ArchitectsThe radius bending plywood was one Architecutral Products magazine's Top 50 Readers' Choice products of 2012, based on reader requests for more information. The list was published in December.

Launched in 2012, Columbia's bendable plywood is made with the company's PureBond formaldehde-free resin and can be covered with a wide choice of laminates or paper-backed veneers to create the desired finished look. The panels are made using rotary peeled tropical hardwood outer backs (or plies) along with a thin veneer face or inner ply, in 2-ply or 3-ply construction types. The panels are available in 4-foot x 8-foot’ long-grain or 8-foot x 4-foot cross-grain styles. Standard thicknesses range from 1/8 inch to 16mm.

End uses includes rounded furniture, curved cabinet ends or islands, rounded wall units and columns, arches and arched casings, ceiling treatments, plus reception desks and office workstations.

Todd Vogelsinger, director of marketing for Columbia Forest Products, said, “This product literally adds a new dimension of possibilities for furniture, fixtures and architectural elements that will be covered with laminate, paper-backed veneers or other decorative surfaces. When a straight edge just won’t do, we’ve made it incredibly easy to add individuality and originality in furniture, fixtures, or any type of interior design."
