RESTON, VA - Cabinetry manufacturers reported sales of $4.7 billion for 2012, up 7.3 percent compared to 2011, reports the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association, the industry trade group.

Sales of stock cabinets rose 11.7 percent; semi-custom cabinetry sales were 4.5 percent higher than 2011; while custom cabinet sales ended the year eked out a 0.1 percent gain in 2012.

Figures for the year are drawn from KCMA monthly Trend of Business report. In December 2012 monthly sales were up robustly, rising 15.2 percent compared to December 2011.

Stock cabinet sales leaped 21.5 percent; while semi-custom sales were up 10.3 percent and custom cabinetry sales rose 9 percent compared to the year ago December.
