MYRTLE BEACH, SC - BauschLinnemann North America, cabinetry and furniture surfaces and edge banding manufacturer, will spend $8 million relocating headquarters to Myrtle Beach, SC, creating 55 jobs.
The move is being made to achieve manufacturing and oeprational efficiencies, according to BauschLinnemann. In 2010, BauschLinnemann acquired Coastal Paper, establishing a foothold in Myrtle Beach and Conway, SC. In the first quarter of 2012, Drummondville, Quebec manufacturing assets of CDM Papier Decor, Inc. were acquired, which will now be consolidated in Myrtle Beach, SC.
U.S. operations are currently headquartered in Greensboro, NC. The company is a unit of its German parent BauschLinnemann GmbH based in Sassenberg, Germany. The companies Bausch Decor and BauschLinnemann are part of Surteco SE, which is also parent of Döllken and Canplast.
"South Carolina has the right business environment for us and has the skilled workforce we need," said BauschLinnemann North America CEO Mike Phillips in a statement announcing the investment.
BauschLinnemann North America Inc. was established in 1984 as Linnemann USA Inc. In 2004, Linnemann merged with a world-wide competitor Bausch and became BauschLinnemann North America. It manufacturers and distributes decorative surfaces - laminates and edgings - used in kitchen and bathroom cabinets, store fixtures, furniture, moldings, and picture frames. The company also provides adhesive coating services for manufacturers using these products.
