Quality Cabinet and Fixture Acquired by Glenn Rieder Inc.

MILWAUKEE - Architectural millwork firm Glenn Rieder, Inc. has acquired Quality Cabinet and Fixture Company of San Diego, and its majority owned subsidiary, Quality Cabinets de Mexico S. de R.L. de C.V.

Glenn Rieder and Quality Cabinet are both in the business of manufacturing, engineering and installing premium grade architectural millwork and related interior finishes for corporate interiors, institutional, judicial, healthcare facilities, hotels, restaurants and casinos in the U.S. and Caribbean.

Glenn Rieder, started in 1946, employs 100 at offices in Milwaukee, Chicago and Las Vegas and in its 100,000 square-foot Milwaukee architectural millwork factory. Mike Floyd, Glenn Rieder CEO, purchased Glenn Rieder, Inc. with James Caragher in January 2000 from Douglas Rieder, the son of the company’s founder. The company was featured in Custom Woodworking Business in 2006 and in the WOOD 100 the same year.

San Diego-based Quality Cabinet and Fixture has been a  millwork manufacturer and subcontractor since 1966, with administrative and design professionals in  San Diego and  a 65,000 square-foot state of the art manufacturing facility in Tijuana, Mexico.

Floyd says the two firms have been "formidable competitors" for 20 years, occasionally collaborating on extremely large projects.such as The Wynn Encore casino hotel and City Center in Las Vegas, the largest private commercial construction project worldwide. At the $2.7 billion Wynn casino Glen Rieder built three specialty restaurants, five specialty retail stores,  pit furniture and a lounge.

"Our organization has great respect for (CEO) Tim Paradise and the entire Quality Cabinet team," Floyd said in an announcement of the acquisition. "We expect to be a significant force in the architectural millwork and custom interior finishes market."
