LOS ANGELES - Furniture shipper American West Worldwide Express has been acquired by Josh Brown, a former furniture manufacturer who hopes to pick up business from the shuttered Furniture Transport Group, according to reports at Furniture Today and Home Furnishings Business.

American West was acquired by ZIM Integrated Shipping Services in 2007. Furniture Transport Group, which closed clast month, was formed following the 2007 merger of MGM Transport Corp. with CF Holding Company Inc. (CF),a furniture transportation group consisting of Caldwell Freight Lines Inc. and Foothills Trucking Co. Inc.
