American Furniture Sales Jump 49 Percent in Second Quarter

ECRU, MS --  American Furniture reported a whopping 49 percent increase in sales during the second quarter, an increase of $10.4 million from the same quarter last year.

Quarterly reports released by Compass Diversified Holdings, the parent company of American Furniture, show American Furniture Manufacturing's sales were $32.7 million, up from $22.2 million from the same time last year. Company officials reported a profit of $1 million for the quarter, compared to a $221,000 loss during the same time the previous year.

The company reported stationary sales increased approximately $3.4 million and motion and recliner sales increased approximately $7 million compared to the same period in 2013. Looking at the first six months of the 014 fiscal year, the company reported stationary sales increased approximately $5.5 million and motion and recliner sales increased approximately $8.8 million compared to the same period in 2013. Total sales for the first six months at American Furniture were $67.5 million, up from $53 million during the first six months of 2013.

Compass Diversified Holdings purchased American Furniture in 2007.
