American Furniture Manufacturing Appoints CEO, VP Sales

American Furniture Manufacturing Appoints CEO, VP SalesECRU, MS - American Furniture Manufacturing Inc. has named Randy Spak as vice president of sales. This follows last month's appointment of J. Allen (Al) Wiygul as CEO of the upholstered furniture manufacturer.

Wiygul succeeds Mike Thomas, who retires at the end of the year.

With approximately 40 years of industry experience, Wiygul previously served as president of Bauhaus USA, a division of La-Z-Boy, Inc. Other past positions include vice president of operations for Berkline Corp. and various senior management positions at Bassett Furniture, Stratford Home Furniture and Washington Furniture.

Spak's promotion was announced by the company Dec. 6. Spak previously served as key accounts and regional manager at Albany Industries, a furniture manufacturer based in Mississippi. From 2008 to 2010, he was president and CEO of China-based Cozzia LLC and also served more than 25 years at Lane Furniture Industries, where he was promoted to president and CEO in 2004.

"Randy is uniquely qualified to serve as AFM's new vice president of sales based on his vast experience in the furniture industry," Wiygul said in a statement. "This appointment is consistent with our focus on pursuing strategic growth opportunities in a challenging market environment while maintaining our commitment to delivering quality products that are made in America and providing superior customer service."

Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Ecru, MS, American Furniture offers stationary and motion furniture, including sofas, loveseats, sectionals, recliners and complementary product. It is a subsidiary of Compass Diversified Holdings.
