BALTIMORE, MD -- Wood components distributor and manufacturer, American Forest Products (AFP), reported to the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation its plans to layoff 74 workers by June 7, 2015, effectively closing its Baltimore, MD, locations.

According to the Baltimore Business Journal, AFP says the layoffs and closures "are due to a pending acquistion" and the purchaser may acquire some of its assets and rehire workers.

AFP, which started in 1970 in Sacremento, CA, has three divisions: manufacturing, wholesale and logistics and services.
