HOLLYWOOD, FL - Klein Merriman, executive director of the Association for Retail Environments (ARE), has announced his retirement.“I've informed the A.R.E. Board of Directors that I would like to retire,” Merriman said. “I've had over 18 wonderful years with A.R.E. and I've decided it's time for some new challenges."

Merriman added that his health is fine and a search committee has been appointed. "We've retained an executive search firm that specializes in trade associations to assist us. I will be part of the search committee and I've committed to stay on long enough after my replacement starts to ensure a smooth transition.

“I owe a big thank you to everyone who has supported me and A.R.E. over the years. We have accomplished many things working together.”
