Kitchen and bath cabinetry, windows, flooring, doors and millwork are a major focus of Design & Construction Week. The mammoth show here in Las Vegas - photos here reflect its scale and scope - is expected to draw 120,000 construction and remodeling pros.

Besides the recovery of the the economy and improvement in home construction and remodeling, this exhibition at the Las Vegas Convention Center benefits from the co-location of the NAHB International Builders’ Show and NKBA’s Kitchen & Bath Industry Show, plus three partner events: the International Window Coverings Expo, The International Surface Event, and Las Vegas Market, a home décor & furnishings expo.

As the show progresses, we'll provide more coverage of trends reports and awards programs unfolding by the hour. Among these will be:

• The Virginia Tech FutureHAUS Kitchen, with significant cabinet manufacturing implications, to be presented Thursday, January 22

• The National Kitchen & Bath Association Trend Report, issued this morning

• The 2015 Economic Forecast, issued by the National Association of Home Builders economists panel, which forecasts a robust 26 percent rise in single family homebuilding for 2015. NAHB runs the Builders' Show.

Plus we'll report from the floor trends in colors, finishes, textures and designs by the industries' largest wood products manufacturers.
