The 53rd Milan International Furniture Fair, Salone del Mobile 2014, will take place April 8-13 in Milan, Italy. Top draws include its kitchen and bath furniture exhibitions as well as the all new "Where Architects Live" event.

With over 2,400 exhibitors and 300,000 visitors expected from more than 160 countries, the 2014 event will highlight the latest furniture design trends and technology. The furniture fair will be split into three style categories: Classic, Modern and Design featuring some of the world's leading manufacturers in high-end furnishings.

The 20th edition of EuroCucina -- the international kitchen furniture exhibition will cover more than 25,000 square meters in four pavilions and the bathroom exhibition will occupy pavilions 22-24 in their entirety for the first time.

One new exhibition, which should prove popular is "Where Architects Live," which will be held in pavilion 9 at the fairgrounds. This exhibit will provide a look into "rooms" designed by eight of the world's most renowned architects: Shigeru Ban, Mario Bellini, David Chipperfield, Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas, Zaha Hadid, Marcio kogan, Daniel Libeskind and Bijoy Jain/Studio Mumbai. The exhibit will feature real-life videos, images, interviews and actual reconstructions.

Scm Group plans to connect with the 2014 Milan Furniture Show through its Home Event, which runs April 10-15. Along with its showroom at the fair, Scm will offer four themed tech tours in furniture, timber construction, windows and doors and custom-made furniture.

For up-to-date information on the Milan Furniture Fair, Salone has a free app available for download -- iSaloni 2014, which runs on iPhones, iPads and Androids. The app will feature a list of exhibitors organized by event, pavilion and category, location of stands, floor plans of the fairgrounds, schedule of evens and more.
