Carpenters Union Local Gains Jobs as Trade Show Relocates

Carpenters Union Local 10 in Chicago says it sold a trade show on relocating to the Chicago McCormick Place exhibition center, building jobs for its members. The union operates a regional training center for cabinet and construction training.

Georgia-Pacific adds a continuous dry kiln at its Dudley, NC., lumber operations in a $9 million launch of a multi-phase production capacity expansion. Driven by the housing recovery, a total $90 million investment is studied.

Bones of King Richard III, died 1485, will be reburied. Discovery of his remains under a Leicester, England parking lot catapulted a Canadian woodworker to fame after his DNA sample helped academics verify remains were Richard III's.
