Wood Flooring New Trend in Custom Vehicles at SEMA, November 4-7

DEARBORN, MI – Ford will showcase five custom transit vans, two of which feature custom wood flooring, at the Specialty Equipment Market Association show in Las Vegas, November 4 – 7.

The Designed Travel Transit, customized for long-distance road trips by Waldoch Crafts of Forest Lake, Minnesota and 3dCarbon and Air Design of Newport Beach, California, features a customized long wheelbase; a 50-inch, high-definition television; a fold-down sofa; and four luxury captain’s chairs with heating, cooling and massage capabilities. The Designed Travel Transit also features a solid hickory wood floor.

The Business Class Transit, customized by Detroit Custom Coach of Oak Park, Michigan, also features wood grain flooring, along with a laptop station, Wi-Fi, motorized privacy shades and a cocktail station. The Business class transit was designed for VIP travel, including business trips or nights out on the town.

“Ford Transit vans and passenger wagons are designed to be upfit-ready so customers have an easier time customizing the vehicle to work best for them,” said Yaroslav Hetman, brand manager for Ford Transit, Transit Connect and E-Series. “We are very excited about what our SEMA customizers have done with these vans. They preview the first of what is expected to be a renaissance in custom vans, led by the all-new Ford Transit.”
