Thomsen Furniture & Cabinets goes on the auction block today, under orders to vacate its architectural woodwork operation's 8th Street plant in Atlanta.

The shuttered architectural and residential woodworking and furniture builder was founded as Thomsen, Lts. by former accountant Bill Thomsen in 1981 as a one-man shop, providing custom furniture, millwork, and wood turning to Atlanta area architects, designers, developers and contractors.

Eventually growing into a 10,000 square foot operation, Thomsen Ltd. expanded as a producer of commercial interior cabinetry and millwork, residential cabinetry for commercial and residential projects, and also began producing authentic reproductions of Arts & Crafts furniture one piece at a time, by hand.

Shop equipment listed by Stone Auctioneers & Appraisers includes Holz-Her edgebander and point-to-point CNC router, belt sanders, and a pair of large beam saws stored offsite. Thomsen also has a large selection of jobsite tools and equipment, including 8 portable saws.
