PITTSBURGH - Color is back in a big way , according to the color forecast for home decor in 2013-2014 from the PPG Porter Paints.
Homeowners are looking for a newfound infusion of vibrant hues, says Dee Schollter, who managers The Voice of Color Program for the paint comany.
"We are living at a time when an unprecedented platform for self-expression exists due to the constant transformation of technology and ever-growing connectivity and communication," said Scholter in a release announcig the forecast. "They've become more comfortable with powerful color.
Deep teals and sharp fuchsias (such as PPG's Rose Marquis) will be in demand, along with 25 other key colors presented in Color Minded, the 2013-2014 trends report for The Voice of Color program.
Schlotter's assessment runs in the opposite direction of some cabinet companies, who see white as the next big thing - cosumers responding to the spare aesthetic of the Apple iPhone 5 in a so-called "Apple Effect."
