ST. LOUIS – During the National Wood Flooring Association’s Wood Flooring Expo April 16-19, NWFA held two service projects to help the Nashville community.

On April 19, NWFA member volunteers worked with Operation Finally Home, a non-profit organization that provides custom-built, mortgage-free homes to wounded veterans and their families as well as the widows of fallen veterans. NWFA member volunteers installed more than 1,000 square feet of wood flooring donated by Mohawk Industries in the home of veteran Adam Montavon.

NWFA volunteers also performed a variety of other tasks to transform the home, including cleaning, landscaping and maintenance. All materials, equipment and labor needed to install the flooring were donated by NWFA member companies.

In addition, NWFA conducted a children’s book drive to assist Book’em, a non-profit organization that provides new and gently used books to low-income children. NWFA Expo attendees gave several hundred books during the show.
