NEW YORK -  Furniture prototypes, representing the creativity of 21 emerging Norwegian designers, were displayed at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF).

The fashionable furniture helped launch InsideNorway 2013 at the ICFF held May 19-21 at the Javitts Convention Center. The exhibit traveled to Los Angeles for Dwell on Design, June 21-23.

The collection, dubbed "The Essence of Things: New Designs from Norway," was curated by Paul Makovsky. “All the objects in the exhibition embrace the fundamental meaning of Scandinavian design—a focus on the essential elements of the work: beauty, simplicity, clean lines, an inspiration from nature and the northern climate, and sustainability," Makovsky said. "The strength and breadth of the work of these young designers is impressive."
