Ambella Home Launches Upholstered Furniture Division

ARCHDALE, NC - Ambella Home is launching a new upholstery division in Archdale, NC. The upholstery division begins a complete transformation of the Ambella Home Collection, which will debut at the Fall 2014 High Point Market in October.

Ambella Home Launches Upholstered Furniture DivisionAmbella Home Founder and Chief Executive Officer George Moussa has purchased the former CR Currin furniture building, which has provided a turnkey facility for the launch of the new division. All design, manufacturing, shipping and operations for the upholstery division will be housed in Archdale in addition to upholstery management and customer service offices.

Ambella Home's new upholstery collection will feature a mix of proprietary upholstery styles, including sofas, chairs, ottomans and sectionals spanning traditional, transitional and modern styles. All upholstery pieces will be custom made per order in High Point, NC. Ambella Home’s upholstery frames will be built of kiln dried maple or European beech. Joints are glued, screwed and double doweled. Engineered Russian birch hardwoods will be used in specific places where hardwoods could be too fragile.

Ambella Home Launches Upholstered Furniture DivisionAmbella Home also has appointed industry veterans to the executive team, including Rick Janecek as Ambella Home Creative Director and Jennifer McConnell as Creative Director Upholstery. Janecek, who has held leadership roles at Global Views, Waterford Wedgwood, Lenox Corporation and Neiman Marcus, will be responsible for the overall creative direction of the entire Ambella Home brand, including styles, trade showroom merchandising and marketing. McConnell, who has held positions at Pearson, Baker Furniture, Bernhardt Design and David Edward, will oversee product, fabric selection and design for the new upholstery division.

In addition to expanding into upholstery and decorative seating, the company will release new case good and occasional pieces in wood, metal and stone at High Point Market. Headlining the Fall launches, Ambella's well-known sink chest category has undergone a transformation to include innovative designs in unique materials.
