Lumber Prices Surge, Saw Mills Expansion In Most Viewed Stories  Chinese lumber buyers swarmed through sawmills and lumberyards trying, in vain, to lock in prices. Highly coveted American hardwoods are in demand around the world, report analysts at Hardwood Review.

As a result, U.S. sawmills are tooling up, with Associated Hardwoods the latest to grow sawmill capacity to fill demand. Through a specialized federal tax credit program, Associated Hardwoods will open a sawmill in Gaffney, SC. The new markets Tax Credit program supports development of manufacturing in rural areas. 

The upcoming machinery auctions at Cardell Cabinetry and at Furniture Brands, were also among most viewed wood industry reports.
