Kitchen Tune-Up Cabinet Refacers Adds 23 Franchise Sites at Sears

Sears Hometown Appliance and Hardware franchises have added Kitchen Tune-up cabinet refacing franchise kiosks in 24 stores in the mid-Atlantic region. ABERDEEN, SD - Kitchen Tune-Up, a national kitchen cabinetry and bath vanity refacing and remodeling franchise, has now opened 23 franchise locations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware - all within Sears franchised outlet stores.

Kitchen Tune-Up began its partnership earlier this year with Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, Inc. - a sister business to the giant retailer Sears Holding, Inc. -  opening cabinetry refacing kiosks at six sites in the mid-Atlantic states. This has now been expanded to almost two dozen with existing Sears Home Appliance Showrooms and Sears Appliance & Hardware Stores, operated by Prayosha Holdings.

“Customers that are looking to refresh their kitchen with new appliances can also take advantage of our cabinet refacing and one day wood restoration services,” said Joe Coyle, Director of Operations for Prayosha Holdings.

The stores now feature an interactive Kitchen Tune-Up kiosk where customers can learn about affordable options to update their kitchen, view cabinet door samples, and use an iPad to see project ideas and book appointments for estimates.

Kitchen Tune-Up services range from restoring and repairing existing wood cabinets, to refacing cabinets and replacing doors and hardware, to installing completely new custom cabinetry.

Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: SHOS), announced at the end of June it was partnering with Kitchen Tune-Up to offer kitchen remodeling services - opening the first six sites soon after.

Scott Nichols, Director of Franchise Business Development for Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores, Inc. - which is a franchise of Sears Holdings - sees the Kitchen Tune-Up as a natural plug in to its retail franchise.

"By offering Kitchen Tune-Up in our locations, they can also take advantage of wood and cabinet updating services that will help them get the look they want without having to completely remodel the entire area," Nichols says. "Our franchisees gain a whole new service offering that adds tremendous value to their business.”

In Kitchen Tune-up's standard franchise plan, territories are set up as exclusively protected areas using zip codes. A base territory of up to 30,000 owner-occupied homes, demographically adjusted, is allocated to each franchisee.

New owners do a self-study course, five days of live cabinet refacing study at Kitchen Tune-Up headquarters, and follow-up business planning and strategy training.
