Michael Cassell, North American CNC product manager for Holz-Her U.S., demonstrates key features of the Evolution 7405, the company's first vertical CNC machining.

Holz-Her held its first public showing in North America of the Evolution at the 2014 Cabinets & Closets Expo, April 10 and 11 in Somerset, NJ. The machine was introduced last year at LIGNA in Hannover, Germany.

The Evolution 7405 offers complete milling and profiling on all four edges of a workpiece. The machine has a six-position linear tool changer, an automatic part positioning vacuum pump and horizontal and vertical drilling and routing capability.

The Evolution 7405 will be displayed at the International Woodworking Fair, Aug. 20-23, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. The machine is one of 61 semi-finalists for the prestigious IWF Challengers Awards competition.
