ATLANTA - Newell Rubbermaid closed on the sale of its hardware businesses - including Amerock decorative cabinet and furniture hardware; Ashland window hardware; Bulldog picture hangers and Pegasystem pegboard and garage organization systems; and Shur-Line painting tools - to Nova Capital, the private equity firm based in New York City. The transaction, totaling $214 million, was first announced Aug. 9.
Newell Rubbermaid says it leaves it with a more cohesive and focused portfolio of brands in five core business segments which includes Irwin Tools and Lenox bandsaw blades and tools, as well as closets.
Newell Rubbermaid Inc., with $5.6 billion in sales, owns office products brands like Sharpie and Dymo; consumer brands like Calphalon, Levolor and Graco; and Rubbermaid home storage products; and Rubbermaid for Professional Builders and Contractors, which offers lines of off-the-shelf and cut to order closets systems sold through dealers.
The site includes a "find a professional" locator, and access for professional dealers of Rubbermaid closets systems ad garage storage systems.
