SEATTLE, WA - Henrybuilt, a Seattle kitchen systems design and production firm, has been recognized for its millwork and cabinetry creations with a Bronze Award at the 2013 IDEA Awards from the Industrial Design Education Association, education arm of the Industrial Design Society of America.

The Seattle-based kitchen system company won for its Opencase Wall System, a reconfigurable storage system with a handmade touch. The innovative system offers clients specialization alongside adaptability, as well as a very high level of design and craft-quality.

Henrybuilt was founded in 2001 to create the first American kitchen system. "Our primary goal is to produce the best kitchen and whole house furniture and storage systems in the world, based on an ideal combination of system development, customization, craft quality and design service," says the company in its website statement.

Henrybuilt's walnut veneer backsplash was also featured in the Wall St. Journal Sept 6, 2013. Like the Opencase Wall System, the paneling, shelves and storage components are part of a European style modular component set.

The company operates showrooms in Seattle and New York, as well as a 40,000 square foot engineering and manufacturing facility in Seattle. Henrybuilt says it has completed over 1,500 major cabinetry and millwork projects for clients throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe.
