VIRTUAL MACHINING SIMULATOR

Missler Software and DMG Electronics introduce the availability of a new interface between TopSolid’Cam and the DMG Virtual Machining Simulator (DMG Virtual Machine). The DMG Virtual Machine is designed to improve machine simulation visualization and the new interface allows TopSolid’Cam operators to open the DMG Virtual Machine directly from TopSolid’Cam while working with TopSolid. This offers a maximum level of integration and interoperability, says the company, for TopSolid’Cam and DMG/MORI Seiki users and streamlines set-up time. The DMG Virtual machine is used to simulate the ISO code to detect errors and potential collisions before the program is loaded on the DMG machining center. The new interface is designed to improve turnaround times for users and offer productivity gains, says the company. To develop the interface, Missler Software provided DMG Electronics with the TopSolid’Cam generated ISO code, the shape of tools and attachments used, the stock and the finished product. The DMG Virtual Machine integrates geometry, kinematics and dynamics of the real machines, as well as the functionalities of CNC and PLC in one continuous virtual process chain. With the virtual machine, activities and processes of a user’s assembly can be planned and verified, says the company.
