10" Compound Miter Saw

Makita’s new 10" Slide Compound Miter Saw (model LS1018) offers large cutting capacity and accuracy with applications ranging from fine woodworking and carpentry to general construction, says the company. The saw can be used with a range of materials, including hardwoods and rough lumber, softwoods, case and base, crown molding, and other wood materials. The miter saw has a direct drive 13 AMP motor with soft start and an electric brake. It has a linear ball bearing system. At 90° the LS1018 has 12" crosscutting capacity, with 8-1/2" capacity at 45° (miter). The saw miters 0° to 47° left and 0 to 60° right, with positive stops at 0°, 15°, 22.5°, 31.6°, and 45° (left and right). The rear-handle bevel lock is easily accessible with adjustments 0° to 45° (left and right), and positive stops at 0° and 45° (left and right), says Makita. It also features a 40T carbide-tipped blade, and a see-through blade guard system. An ergonomic rubberized handle design with large trigger offers added comfort. The LS1018 weighs 43.7 lbs. for added jobsite portability. Applications include baseboard and crown molding installation, finish carpentry, cabinet and furniture making, wood floor installation, deck building and general construction.
