20V Brushless 3-Speed Hammerdrill

DeWalt introduces the new 20V MAX premium brushless drills with Extreme Runtime (XR). The new XR 3-speed Hammerdrill, Model DCD995 features a DeWalt-built brushless motor that delivers up to 57 % more runtime versus standard brushed motors, says the company. The XR premium Hammerdrill (DCD995M2) kit includes two DeWalt 20V Max XR high capacity,  4.0Ah lithium ion battery packs (DCB204) providing 33% more capacity over standard DeWalt 20V Max  battery packs. The packs feature a fuel gauge that allows users to check remaining power during use. The Hammerdrill’s high-efficiency brushless motor delivers 650 unit watts out (UWO) max power. The 3-speed  (0-450/0-1,300-2,000 RPM) all-metal transmissions better match tool-to-applications tasks speed/torque settings compared with standard 2-speed transmissions, says DeWalt. The hammerdrill measures 8.4” long and weighs 4.7 lbs. Applications include high torque drilling and fastening including commercial and residential general construction/remodeling, electrical and mechanical installation.  Also new from DeWalt is the 20V Max XR premium brushless 3-speed Drill/Driver (DCD990), which measures 7.9” long and weighs 4.6 lbs. DeWalt says the compact drills are designed to fit into tight areas with a slim profile and comfort grip handle that offers balance and comfort.
