Vertical CNC Machining Centers

Holz-Her’s new Evolution Series of Vertical CNC Machining Centers offers flexibility and a small space requirement with a high level of productivity, says the company. The patent-pending vacuum-based clamping system is equipped with software-controlled, fully automatic suction cup positioning with hole recognition, allowing workpieces to be machined on all four sides without re-clamping. The standard drilling head is equipped with 9 vertical and 6 horizontal drills and a grooving saw. The optional XL-drilling head has up to 22 drilling spindles and a grooving saw. The router spindle with automatic tool changer delivers flexibility and extremely fast cycle times, adds Holz-Her. With a machining capacity of 3,200 mm (10 ft) in the X-direction without additional support of the panels and 920 mm (3 ft) in the Y-direction, Evolution offers a wide range of possible applications, says the company, including the machining of cambered solid wood sections, MDF furniture fronts, milling and drilling of furniture parts, engravings and complete processing of counter tops. This also guarantees extremely short cycle times and maximum precision even on long parts. The Evolution is provided with CAMPUS/NC-Hops software for easy-to-use parametric programming, as well as macros to simplify programming, says the company.
