Castle introduces its CSI Pocket Cutter/Screw Inserter CSI-1.5. Castle says the CSI-1.5 saves time, reduces waste and eliminates non-value-added labor and screw-handling motion trauma for high-production cabinet joinery. The company says with its patented Screw-In-Pocket (SIP) technology, the CSI-1.5 lets users cut a screw pocket, drill a low angle pilot hole and insert a screw below flush in 1.5 seconds. Also, the screw placements allows for material stacking without marring adjacent material during transfer, adds the company, and the fit between the screw and the pilot hole assure that the screw will not fall out while being transported from machining to assembly. Castle adds that the CSI-1.5 provides faster machining and faster production time by eliminating screw handling at assembly.
