WoodLINKS: We're Receiving Funding and Ready to Grow

By Patrick Molzahn | 06/25/2012 5:47:00 PM

For the past several years, I have been studying the ancient Chinese art of Tai Chi. Once a week I take a precious hour out of my schedule to re-energize my inner spirit. At the end of the class, we all raise our hands and clap once in unison. It never ceases to amaze me the thunder a group of 25 individuals can make.

WoodLINKS® USA works along a similar vein. By uniting industry and education, we can make a huge impact. Recently I received a check for $20,000 from the Architectural Woodwork Education Foundation (AWIEF). Their support, along with that of others, helps ensure that we can continue to nurture future workers for our industry.

Over the past year, we have witnessed a renewed interest by suppliers and manufacturers to assist schools. They know that their future success rests upon the future of our workforce. Our donation package now totals more than $200,000!

If you know of a school that could benefit by becoming a member of WoodLINKS® USA, or of a supplier who might be interested in joining our growing list of supporters, please have them contact either myself, Rick Hill director@woodlinksusa.org or Mark Smith educoordinator@woodlinksusa.org

WoodLINKS® USA succeeds because of a passionate group of teachers and volunteers. We are always looking suggestions and feedback to improve WoodLINKS® USA. Feel free to contact me any time at pmolzahn@matcmadison.edu or 608.246.6842
