Kuhl Design Build I admit it. After seeing pictures of this pirate ship bedroom, designed by Steve Kuhl and built by Kuhl Design Build in Hopkins, MN, I want to be a kid again.
I'm not the only one who feels this way. Reports of the project have gone viral, on ABC news' website as well as others.
Designed for his 6-year-old nephew, this floating pirate ship, fabricated using wood ribs/supports, plywood and other materials, is the centerpiece of the creation. A rope from the ship descends into the closet (which can also be accessed more conventionally by a door), while a rope bridge strong enough for an adult’s weight, connects the ship’s hull to a “jail cell.” The project design also includes a wooden hewn crows nest and a 55-foot curved slide. According to its website, Kuhl Design Build is a full service architectural design and remodeling firm specializing in large residential projects. The company has won numerous awards for its work, including 8 ROMA awards from the Builders Association of the Twin Cities.
This innovative bedroom project is sure to garner another award.
