Utopia Needs Woodworkers, for Fox TV Reality Show Wood workers could land a role in building a brave new world. FOX TV is launching a reality television show, “UTOPIA.” The concept of this"unscripted social experiment" show, as Fox describes it:

“UTOPIA” follows 15 inhabitants as they leave their everyday lives to move to an isolated and undeveloped location – for up to an entire year – where they'll create their own world. The series offers imaginative people from across America the chance to be part of a groundbreaking social experiment – the pioneers will make every decision about how they will live, work, and what the rules and laws of “UTOPIA” will be. Casting is searching for candidates who are passionate, great at what they do, and also have the problem-solving skills needed for starting up a new society.

"I am currently seeking out people with skills in the construction, home decorating, design, DIY, transportation, woodworking, machinery/tools, architecture, green living, sustainable development, building/engineering trades areas. That is what led me to your site," says Nikki Carbone, a casting associate at the Conlin Company.  "We are searching for candidates who are passionate, great at what they do, and also have the problem-solving skills needed for starting up a new society."

If you want to get a feeling for your role, the FOX show trailer includes comparable scenes from a Dutch version. Not much tradesmanship in it, but there is an outdoor bathtub scene. Apply by making your own video. And let us know how that goes!
