Awesome Austin to Host 8th Closets Expo

In what USA Today described as “one of the biggest economic shifts in the past halfcentury,” Texas has surpassed New York in economic might. With a GDP now eclipsing $1 trillion, the Texas economy represents 8.3% of the nation’s wealth, second only to California. Helping to fuel that boom is Austin, 15th most populous city in the U.S., capital of the state and self-proclaimed “Live Music Capital of the World.” Now Austin can add “Home of the 2012 Closets & Home Organization Conference & Expo“ to its list of credentials.

Indeed, the 8th Annual Closets Conference & Expo will be held Feb. 15–17 at the Austin Convention Center. The venue is a perfect fit for the one-of-a-kind event. It’s accessible from all points of the country, offers fabulous February weather and features a wide variety of eateries and live entertainment establishments all within a short walk of the convention center hotels. Against Austin’s awesome backdrop, CLOSETS magazine and the Association of Closet and Storage Professionals will present the most dynamic home organization event to date. In addition to three full days of education and networking and two days of product displays and demonstrations by leading industry suppliers, the Closets Conference will for the first time offer training tied to the ACSP’s new professional storage designer certification program. The certification program is an exciting development for the association, the industry and the Closets Conference. By coming to Austin next February, you will have the opportunity to quickly earn credits toward your certificate, learn from other storage professionals how they are leveraging certification to promote their business and have the ability to help drive the industry to a new level of professionalism.

CMA Certification

Certification will also be at the forefront of education programming served up at the 3rd Custom Cabinet Conference, which will once again be featured at the Closets Conference & Expo.

The Cabinet Makers Assn. will offer Continuing Education Units to attendees. The CMA's certification program was pilot-tested at the Custom Cabinet Conference last February in Charlotte and was formally rolled out last month at the AWFS Fair in Las Vegas. Working with Custom Woodworking Business, the CMA will present a selection of business topics geared toward helping attendees run their businesses more efficiently and profitably.

We hope you will make plans now to join us in Austin for what we believe will be a most memorable event. This is a once-a-year opportunity that is not to be missed.
