Hardware Trends: Function Meets FormAmong the hardware trends to be seen at the interzum fair will be the damping or electrification of drawers, pull-outs and flaps, according to show management. The goal: to make working in the kitchen and other rooms more quieter, comfortable and ergonomic, by introducing practical solutions for cabinets, furniture and casegoods.

What follows are some of the hardware items on display, plus products already available in the U.S. marketplace.

Grass America says the new Vionaro drawer system combines an extremely slender drawer side design with the Dynapro drawer slide technology. Featuring 3-D adjustability, the slide system has a load capacity of up to 132 lbs with synchronized movement throughout. (800) 334-3512, GrassUSA.com

Hafele offers the Free family of hingeless flap fittings. Utilizing the soft-close feature, the company says the Free 3677 for one-piece flaps will lock in any position, and has an opening angle of 90 or 100 degrees. Blum’s TANDEM plus BLUMOTION runners have new features including 4-D adjustment, increased load capacity and better side stability, along with smooth running action and soft close.
