Royce//Ayr, a manufacturer of cutting tools for woodworking, metal working and other industries, plans to build a 20,000-square-foot addition to its manufacturing facility in Cambridge.

Goodfellow Inc. (TSE:GDL), a re-manufacturer and distributor of lumber and hardwood flooring, reported net earnings of $2.1 million (Cad) on consolidated sales of $134.0 million for its third quarter ended May 31.


IKEA Sued by Furniture Supplier for Breach of Contract

IKEA is being sued for $25 million by a now shuttered Canadian furniture manufacturer for breach of contract. Its couch appears on the Big Bang Theory television show.

The 2015 Woodworking Machinery & Supply Expo (WMS 2015), Canada’s largest display of professional-grade woodworking equipment, accessories and supplies, takes center stage Nov. 5-7, 2015 and will return for an encore Nov. 2-4, 2017 at the International Centre.


Dorel to Acquire Chinese Juvenile Furniture Maker

Dorel Industries Inc. has signed an agreement to acquire the juvenile business of Hong Kong-based Lerado Group, one of the largest juvenile product manufacturers in China. The acquisition will give Dorel its first company-owned factory in Asia.

Canadian housing starts held steady for the third straight month in May and the market appears to be headed for a "soft landing" this year, according to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC).
