Casting wood veneer into dimensional objects
Product designer Ori Ravgad introduces a new technique to construct wooden veneer objects. This technique was born from a practical research which was targeted to push the boundaries of crafting with wood veneer, and generate a new aesthetic edge.
 
Ravgad, based in Tel Aviv, uses the Paipu Wood technique, inspired by the ancient Japanese methodology of rolling sushi.

Veneer Symposium welcomes new speaker

A mechanical engineer with over 35 years in the forest products industry, Dane Floyd, CEO of Veneer Services, joins the roster of expert presenters at the IWF Veneer Symposium. 


It permits casting of the veneer, while enabling its application on a diverse scale of objects - including furniture.
