The parent of Kraftmaid, Merillat, Masco Cabinetry, and Cardell Cabinetry, Masco Corporation (NYSE: MAS), confirmed it would sell its cabinetry and window businesses.

A virtual-reality based spray finish training system has been adopted by a number of wood manufacturing companies, including KraftMaid Cabinets, which uses it to train employees in more precise manual spray finishing of its DuraKraft Plus finishes for cabinet doors.

Problems in sales of kitchen cabinetry and vanities followed Masco Corporation (NYSE: MAS) into the third quarter, with sales in the category down 5 percent. The rest of Masco's home improvement categories brought operating profit growth and flat net sales in the third quarter of 2015.

Cabinet and building products giant Masco Corp. announced plans to relocate its corporate headquarters by the end of 2016 to a 75,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility in Livonia, Michigan. The news comes just days after the company released its second quarter findings of 3% overall net sales growth — 7% in North America — to $1.9 billion. Sales were spurred by a 6% jump in Cabinets and Related Products, driven by KraftMaid Cabinetry’s sales growth with home centers and dealers.

Cabinetry, vanity and residential remodeling supplier Masco Corporation (NYSE: MAS) declared a quarterly dividend of $.09 per share, payable on February 9, 2015, to shareholders of record on January 9, 2015.

Masco, parent of Masco Cabinetry and its Merillat and KraftMaid lines, says it will spin-off its installation and services businesses into a publicly-traded company. It also will buy back 50 million shares and plans to lay off 40 percent of headquarters staff.
