MUSCATINE, Iowa -  HNI Corp. has appointed Jeff Lorenger to president of its Office Furniture segment. He will report to Stan Askren, chairman, president and CEO of HNI Corp. The Office Furniture segment includes the Allsteel, HON, Gunlocke, Lamex, Paoli, BPergo, HBF, HBF Textiles and Maxon brands. Lorenger has held multiple executive level positions since joining HNI in 1998.  He holds a BBA, MBA, and Juris Doctorate degrees from the University of Iowa.

Office furniture maker HNI, located in Muscatine, Iowa, announced it was closing manufacturing operations at Paoli Inc., its contract furniture division located in Orleans, Indiana.

On the eve of NeoCon, commercial furniture manufacturer HNI Corporation (Hon, Allsteel, Gunlocke, et.al.) increased its earnings forecast. While the furniture maker still expects a drop in sales - with China's downturn having an impact - it improved the second quarter and fiscal year 2016 forecast overall.

HNI's latest expansion and renovation plans continue to move forward, with the office furniture giant being granted tax benefits on the estimated $17.8 million capital investment. This project is in addition to the $30 million expansion and renovation already underway at another HNI facility.

Residential furniture makers La-Z-Boy and Nova LifeStyle offered an upbeat forecast during their earning call, but office and contract funriture comglomerate HNI (Hon, Allsteel, etc.) is anticipating a slowdown on the horizon. A new ERP computer system at La-Z-Boy "helped us achieve a 12.1% operating margin," says its CEO.

HON furniture parent HNI Corp. sales exceeded the half billion dollar mark first quarter 2015, rising 15.8% to $523.5 million. But net income dropped on higher shipping costs and a $1 million furniture plant closure charge.

HNI Corporation announced sales for the first quarter ended April 4, 2015, of $523.5 million and net income of $8.5 million, or $0.19 per diluted share.

Business furniture manufacturer HNI Corp. (NYSE: HNI) net income rose 30 percent, with office furniture up 50 percent for the fourth quarter ended January 31, 2015. Sales were $646.7 million and net income was $7.1 million.

HNI Corporation (NYSE: HNI) announced sales for the fourth quarter ended January 3, 2015, of $646.7 million and net income of $7.1 million, or $0.16 per diluted share.

HNI Corporation announced sales for the second quarter ended June 28, 2014, of $509.1 million and net income of $9.7 million, or $0.21 per diluted share for the quarter.
