Okamura Furniture joins the ranks of companies that have achieved LEVEL Certified furniture products.

Anthony Serge has been named Technical Director Safety & Performance for BIFMA International.

CHICAGO — The Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association has announced several board changes and the election of a new board member. Jeff Lorenger, acting chair of the BIFMA board, and president & CEO of HNI Corp., said that one of those changes related to the association's bylaws as it relates to the number and type of seats on the board. 

Terry Cassaday, founder and CEO of ergoCentric Inc., was elected to the BIFMA Board of Directors at the association's January meeting.

Starting in 2022, BIFMA will provide live virtual learning opportunities on the fourth Thursday of the month at noon ET for our members, designers, buyers, and anyone interested in furniture for the built environment. There is no fee to attend.

BIFMA has completed its review and recommendations for the following furniture safety and performance standards in accordance with the established American National Standards Institute (ANSI) 5-year review process.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission's flammability standard for upholstered furniture went into effect on June 25.
