CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. - SMTCL-Americas has announced that it has reduced the price on its VMC850B machine tool system to below $60,000.

The SMTCL-Americas Technology Center is located in City of Industry, California and stocks machines, replacement parts, and accessories. SMTCL is a machine tool manufacturer producing 80,000 machine tools each year and has over 300 products including conventional lathes, boring mills, and radial drills. SMTCL has design centers in Berlin, Germany and Shanghai, China as well as multiple factories in both countries.

"The VMC850B has been one of our most popular models," said Chad Turner, national sales manager for SMTCL. "With over 1,000 machines sold in the United States and one Million machines sold worldwide, SMTCL is providing extreme value by delivering a high-quality machine that provides power, speed, and accuracy."

SMTCL uses the complete Japanese Fanuc package including drives, motors, resolvers, and other key components. The VMC850B features the Fanuc 0i Control which features seven-year mean time between failures (MTBF). Also used are Japanese THK Linear Ways featuring way lube pumped directly to the bearings. A Taiwanese GIFU 24 position side tool changer and a Taiwanese Spintech 10,000 RPM Spindle are used and quality is enhanced by Taiwanese Hi-Win ballscrews, a United States Bijur lubricating system, and Grundfos pumps.

"The quality of the machine is exceptional because we use high quality components from all around the world." said Anthony Zamora, service supervisor for SMTCL. "Also, the German design of our castings make the VMC850B weigh over 15,000 lbs., but that also results in a firm, rigid structure for the machine."
