HICKORY, NC - SunBelt Furniture Xpress has broken ground on a 17,000 square foot expansion of our Hickory NC cross dock facility with expected completion in November of this year.

Once the warehouse addition is complete we will have over 130,000 square feet of warehouse and office space in our main Hickory operation. The recently initiated expansion in our dock capacity has been complimented by a concerted effort to bring on additional equipment in our local as well as line haul operations over the past six months.

SunBelt took delivery of 30 new 53 foot air ride trailers from Utility Trailer Company on Tuesday, September 6th, 2011 and is currently placing options on further trailer purchases moving forward this year. The composite trailers ordered thru Utility integrate exceptional strength and the lowest tare weight to provide greater productivity and lower operating cost.

The increase in trailer capacity has also been part of a tractor replacement and upgrade program started earlier in 2011 with the complete replacement of our local fleet with late model Freightliner and International tractors as well as upgrades to our long haul road units during this same time period.
