There is a growing interest in creating taller commercial buildings from wood. In March, the USDA gave WoodWorks a $1 million grant for architect and builder training in an effort to promote more use of wood in commercial buildings.

USDA will give $1 million for architect and builder training to WoodWorks, the Wood Products Council effort to promote more use of wood in commercial buildings. A high-rise award was also established.
