Steelcase Inc. of Grand Rapids, MI, is celebrating its 100th anniversary.

The company, which was founded at the Metal Office Furniture Company in 1912, introduced a fireproof metal waste basket as its first product. Today, Steelcase is a global, publicly traded company with fiscal 2011 revenue of approximately $2.4 billion and nearly 10,000 employees around the world.

"100 Dreams. 100 Minds. 100 Years." is the ttitle of Steelcase's year-long anniversary project.
