How It Works: A High Tech Dust Extraction System for Panel SawsThe Holzma dustEX from Stiles Machinery Inc. features combination air jets, throughout the panel saw machining table, that extract dust at the cut line. Introduced during Ligna 2013, the Holzma's dust extraction system was a finalist in the 2014 IWF 2014 Challenger Awards.

New suction geometry technology at the right-angled fence works with the combination air jets to remove dusts and chips while maintaining the cushioning function. So, how does that work?

The Holzma dustEX system uses single-direction air ball valves to blow air horizontally instead of vertically. It creates a cushion of air to move dust toward the redesigned program fence where it is vacuumed into a collection unit. An optional front and rear dust curtain is also available.

The system also protects high-gloss materials by reducing the chances of scratches from flying dust and chips. Another advantage is that it frees up operator time because dust removal is automatic.
