Panel Processing Acquires Modular Wood SystemsALPENA, MI - One of the nation's largest flat panel fabrication firms has grown larger. Panel Processing Inc. announced Nov. 12 it has purchased the assets of Modular Wood Systems Inc. in Claudville, VA.

According to a statement from Panel Processing Inc., the acquisition of Modular Wood Systems will augment the company's existing slatwall business while giving Panel Processing "the ability to better service the mid-Atlantic geographical area."

Modular Wood Systems has approximately 26 employees at its 87,000-square-foot facility. The company will be a subsidiary of Panel Processing Inc., joining Holland Panel Products, acquired by PPI in 2005, and Alabama Inter-Forest, acquired in 2004.

In business for more than 40 years, Panel Processing Inc. has evolved from a small pegboard manufacturer into a leading custom flat panel fabricator and coating specialist, with six locations nationwide. PPI and its subsidiaries serve a variety of markets including: retail fixture, P.O.P. display, packaging, furniture, toy and game, digital print signage, cabinets, etc.

Panel Processing is an employee-owned (ESOP) company.
