Doors & Drawers manufactures commercial cabinetry in Ann Arbor, MI, and recently purchased a $150,000 edge banding machine. It also added the new Festool CONTURO Edge Bander to edge band on a radius, and to take to job sites.

At LIGNA 2015, IMA Network (it includes Schelling, Priess Hostmann) showed an energy efficient laser edgebander said to be competitive with hot air technology, convertible edgebanding (laser to conventional) and fully-integrated Industry 4.0 Batch 1 production cells.

Large numbers of U.S. wood products manufacturers attended the big German trade show, LIGNA 2015, which ends today in Hannover. A resurgent economy and rapid pace of expansion in North America, Asia, and emerging markets brought 96,000 visitors to the 5-day show.
