Spoonflower, a venture capital funded design sourcing website, will extend its services into production of customized, digitally-print occasional chairs in September 2016, at a new website, selling at a new website, Roostery.com
Ashley Furniture announced it will close its manufacturing plants in Colton, California, and shift the production of the upholstered furniture and bedding to its other plants in the United States. The company notified the 840 employees last week that the plants would close Oct. 25.
Tafisa Canada has expanded capacity with the startup of its fifth TFL press line for producing two-sided embossed and in-register textured composite panels in 4-foot by 8-foot and 5-foot by 9-foot sizes. Tafisa said the additional line will aid the production and on-time delivery of its new VIVA panels, which utilize embossed and in-register (EIR) technology.
Exports of woodworking and sawmill equipment produced in the U.S. are finding buyers around the world. The growth has gotten the attention of the U.S. Department of Commerce, which calls the industry a "vibrant marketplace."
