Santa Fe Springs, CA - Racing enthusiasts from all over the country are preparing for serious speed with the upcoming 2013 National Championship Belt Sander Races set for Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the AWFS®Fair in Las Vegas, Nevada. Hosted by Accuride International, the Belt Sander Racing Association (BSRA) and the AWFS®Fair committee, this raucous event will take place at 4:30 p.m. in the convention center’s Central Hall, booth #9746.

Sanders burst from the starting gate and roar down a 75 foot wooden track to vie for trophies. The competition is fierce as speed-obsessed competitors race stock and modified belt sanders down a 75-foot wooden track, with the fastest and best-dressed sanders taking home trophies and special awards presented by Accuride.

“We’re seeing these sanders get faster and faster, with the track record being squashed on a regular basis,” says BSRA president and Accuride rep Jamie Goodwin. “Last year alone the speed record was broken three times—twice by Bob Kinsella of Kinsella Woodworks—with a blazing 2.42 seconds claimed by his sander ‘Quatro’.”

AWFS®Fair attendees are encouraged to register early to participate in the race. For more information about Belt Sanding Racing and the BSRA, event rules and regulations, or to register to compete, visit
