AWFS Installs New Board at Woodworking Industry Conference

Anaheim, CA - Association of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers (AWFS®) recently installed their 2013 Board of Directors at this year's WIC in Tempe, AZ. Wade Gregory, from Flakeboard America Ltd., has been named President of AWFS®.

Joan Kemp, of CP Adhesives, Inc., will stay on the Board as Immediate Past President after serving as the President of AWFS since February of 2008.

Continuing as Board members through 2015 are Kevin Bedell, ABAD Foam, Inc; Kevin Corder, Froedge Machine & Supply Company, Inc.; Ed Fiantaca, Accurate Technologies; Rob Howell, SCM Group North America; Steve Regele; Blum, Inc.; Robert Slater, Stiles Machinery, Inc. and Gene Valcke from Hanes Industries.

New Board members include Don Bigelow of Vero Software Limited, Dave Golling from Royal Plywood Co. and Michael Williams, Festool USA.

At the Installation dinner, held at Vincitorio's Resturant in Tempe, Wade Gregory acknowledged and thanked all of the returning Board members for their service to the industry, while welcoming the three new members to the AWFS® Board of Directors. He also thanked Joan Kemp for her outstanding contribution and leadership and for helping guide the Association through the most challenging period in the industry's recent history, brought on by economic downturn of 2008. His message to the new Board and invited guests, which included representatives from the Woodworking Machinery Industry Association (WMIA), Wood Machinery Manufacturers of America (WMMA), and industry media partners was "to see AWFS have the success similar to what we had prior to the downturn and continue, in partnership with fellow associations, to help strengthen our industry, through legislative advocacy, supporting career technical education, and continuing to produce a successful trade show and making every effort to support AWFS members and AWFS®Fair exhibitors."
