CHICAGO  - Stout Risius Ross, Inc., a global advisory firm specializing in Investment Banking, Valuation & Financial Opinions, and Dispute Advisory & Forensic Services said its client, Sterling Lumber Company Inc., has received an investment from funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P., a global alternative investment management firm based in Los Angeles.

Established in 1947 by John Sterling with headquarters in Phoenix, Illinois, Sterling is a leading North American provider of access, crane, and outrigger mats to owners and constructors of energy and power infrastructure. Sterling's products and services are utilized in constructing temporary access roads and providing ground stabilization for heavy equipment on transmission & distribution, oil & gas pipeline, and renewable energy infrastructure jobsites.
 
Sterling also provides turnkey matting solution services, including access planning, site preparation, mat installation and removal, and site restoration. Sterling's matting solutions help protect the environment, generate efficient jobsite workflows, and play a critical role in ensuring jobsite safety.
 
Stout served as financial advisor to Sterling in connection with the investment by Oaktree. Nick Jachim, head of Investment Banking at Stout, said "It was a pleasure working with the Sterling family and management team in finding a strategic partner that would help continue the tremendous growth Sterling is experiencing." Eric Reuther and Michael Brocious assisted Jachim on the deal.
